The human  figure provides Songye artists with an endless source of artistic inspiration. Serene and elegant representations of males and females abound, each having a characteristic style and individuality. This sculpture comes from the Goldet collection in Paris, and was previously owned by Gaston De Havenon. It was exhibited at the Museum of African Art in Washington DC.
